Privacy

The Human Constellation is designed to preserve human words while collecting as little personal information as possible.

What we collect

When you leave a light, we store the message, selected theme, attribution, visibility, creation time, moderation status, celestial coordinates, and a private one-way record connected to your Star Key. We do not require an email address or public account.

Public and private lights

Every new public light remains invisible until a human Keeper approves it. Private lights are not placed in public discovery. A reported public light may be quarantined outside discovery until a Keeper evaluates it.

Star Keys

Your Star Key is submitted privately in the body of an encrypted request and is not placed in the page address. Anyone who possesses a Star Key may access and delete the connected light, so keep it private. We cannot recover a lost key.

Local journey memory

Your browser may remember lights you encountered, carried, or marked as meaningful, along with your last position in the sky. This local journey memory stays on that device and can be cleared through browser storage controls.

Technical information

Our hosting provider may process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, device information, and security logs to deliver and protect the service. One-way request fingerprints and rate limits may be used to reduce spam, repeated reporting, and automated abuse.

What not to submit

Do not submit addresses, phone numbers, passwords, financial information, medical records, government identifiers, or another person’s private information. Public lights should not identify a private individual without permission.

Retention and deletion

A light remains stored until its creator deletes it with the Star Key, or until it is removed under the Dignity Guidelines, legal obligations, or service-protection needs. Temporary security logs and infrastructure backups may persist for a limited period.

Children

The experience is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect submissions from children under 13.

Sharing and sale

We do not sell personal information. Approved public lights are shared only within the public Human Constellation experience. Service providers may process data solely to host, secure, and operate it.
